Make the most of your membership by becoming more involved – and have some fun meeting other NWDA members! If you are interested in volunteering on NWDA committees, the Board of Directors welcomes your participation. To get started, just download and fill out the volunteer form and return it to NWDA Headquarters.

Charitable Activities
Chairperson: Kelly King

NWDA’s Charitable Activities Committee is responsible for the oversight of the Habitat for Humanity relationship as well as the scholarship program. Committee members may be tasked with organizing any Habitat Hands-On projects as determined by the board of directors, reviewing the short-list of scholarship applicants to determine a final recipient, assisting with Mulligan sales at the summer meeting, and developing/maintaining a relationship with the Executive Director of the Atlantic City Habitat Chapter.

Golf and Venue Committee
Chairperson:

NWDA’s Golf and Venue Committee is responsible for the oversight of meeting venue selections, Winter Meeting Table Top assignments, and Summer Golf Outing golfer pairings. Committee members may be tasked with making future-meeting venue recommendations that will be presented to the board, assigning foursome pairings prior to the golf outing, and review/editing the Table Top location diagram prior to the Winter Meeting.

Membership
Chairperson:

NWDA’s Membership Committee is responsible for promoting programming this is in-line with the association’s by-laws and that will work to maintain and grow membership. Committee members may be tasked with developing and maintaining a prospect list, providing exit interviews for lapsed members, ensuring the accurate and relevant collection of member data, and collaborating with other committees to ensure that all programs meet members’ needs.

Energy
Chairperson: Darryl Huber

NWDA’s Energy Committee is responsible for monitoring all energy issues related to the window industry. Committee members may be tasked with maintaining a database of key contacts involved in energy policy, developing NWDA positions with regard to energy issues, providing updates of these positions to membership, and providing the communications/PR committee with relevant articles, press information, and data.

Legislative
Chairperson: Alan Hinkle

NWDA’s Legislative Committee is responsible for monitoring all legislative issues related to the window industry. Committee members may be tasked with maintaining a database of key legislative contacts, developing NWDA positions with regard to pending legislative issues, providing updates of these positions to membership, provide the communications/PR committee with relevant articles, press information, and data, and initiating/ writing emails to membership calling them to action as needed.

Finance
Chairperson: Bob Sullivan

NWDA’s Finance Committee is responsible for the fiscal oversight of the association. Committee members may be tasked with reviewing association financial statements, developing the annual budget of the association, and making recommendations to the board with regard to event pricing.

Educational Speakers
Chairperson: Chuck Scalzott

NWDA’s Educational Speaker Committee is responsible for providing members with timely educational programming. Committee members may be tasked with developing programming for upcoming educational events, and identifying and confirming speakers to participate in the programming.

Communications/PR
Chairperson:

NWDA’s Communications/PR Committee is responsible for the initiation and oversight of the association’s internal and external communications. Committee Members may be tasked with ensuring consistent messages in NWDA communications, securing articles for the quarterly newsletter, writing and distributing press releases on the “date/location announcements” for all three educational meetings, developing and maintaining media lists and relationships with media contacts, ensuring that pictures are taken at every event, soliciting articles from the legislative and energy committees, and ensuring that website maintenance and updates are completed in a timely manner.

 

Note: all committee activity is supported administratively by the staff at NWDA Headquarters.
